Vice President Mike Pence departed the Indianapolis Colts’ home game against the San Francisco 49ers as it opened Sunday afternoon after players showed disrespect for the National Anthem.

While Colts players did not “take the knee” but merely locked arms for “unity” or something during the anthem, members of the 49’ers (the team that now-unemployed Colin Kaepernick played for until this season) took to their knees to send a message about injustice, racism, their hatred for President Donald Trump, and mean cops who try to arrest fine upstanding individuals like Michael Brown, whatever.

Pence (who was at this game in particular to be there when now-retired Colts great Peyton Manning was to be honored at a halftime ceremony) tweeted this statement:

“I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem. At at time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don’t think it’s too much to ask NFL players to respect the Flag and our National Anthem. I stand with President Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem.”

  1. AMEN BROTHER. GOD BLESS AMERICA , OUR FLAG AND OUR MILITARY AND VETERANS !! WE ALL STAND FOR THE FLAG AND KNEEL FOR THE CROSS !! THANK YOU. !!GOD BLESS !!

  2. Good for you, Vice President Pence. I used to be a Seahawk fan but now I couldn’t care less if they finish first, last, or in between. I’ve found other things to do on Sundays. (A couple weeks ago they stayed in the locker-room while the anthem was being played. Currently I don’t know whether they stand, kneel or don’t even show up on the field for the playing of the National Anthem but, again, I couldn’t care less.) I knew Seattle was a liberal city but I didn’t think the Seahawks were, also; guess I should have known.

  3. How sad so many show so little respect for our Flag and National anthem. I have no idea what it will take to stop this revolution of sorts. I think it is planned to pit race against race and what a horror that would be. We ALL have rights but sports venue to me is not the place to protest. Let the people go and enjoy sports without all the hullabaloo – have drinks and eat and laugh. there is more than enough places to protest out of the place we go to just simply enjoy life and have little fun

  4. Salute to you Vice President Pence and Mrs. Pence for being the American Patriot example. God bless you and your family. Salute to your son serving this great country, also.

  5. I wonder if ungrateful overpaid football players will still be taking a knee when the only one’s still watching the games are family members and their paychecks start bouncing?????

  6. The NFL had better come to their senses and start Honoring the Flag. our Service Members & The National Anthem. I stopped watching 2 weeks ago & won’t watch ever again until the NFL Players & the NFL League office makes a publicly apology ! Trump 2020

  7. VP SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AT THE GAME…PERIOD…THERE WAS NO SIGN THAT THERE WAS GOING TO BE A CHANGE IN THE KNEELING SITUATION…SO WHY TRY…AND TO HAVE THEIR LOGO SHIRTS ON TOO…BAD.

  8. Saturday is now football day at our house. I am veteran and will express my opinion with my wallet, so long NFL. I will also not support any sponser’s of the NFL as well. The only thing they will understand is the loss of the $$$$$$$$ that pay the players and make the owners millions.

Also no more public funded stadiums.

  9. This makes me respect our Vice President even more! Thank you for leaving the game, which should have been a wonderful opportunity for the players to show their respect for you, Vice President Pence, our Flag, our National Anthem, our Military and all other “Keepers of Peace”! I’m so ashamed of the NFL Owner’s, Manager’s and Promoter’s whom are allowing this to keep happening! How disgusting to act with such disrespect, but especially when our Vice President was present! I’m crying for the USA!
